Car bomb kills police in Kirkuk, police say

KIRKUK, Mar 13 (Reuters) Two police officers were today killed and four wounded in two separate car bomb attacks targeting police patrols in Kurdish areas of Kirkuk, the oil capital of northern Iraq, police said.

Four police were wounded by the first car bomb in the town 250 km north of the Iraqi capital Baghdad, police said.

The second car bomb killed two policemen as their patrol passed.

About 15 minutes separated the blasts, police said.

Up to six coordinated car bombs ripped through markets in Sadr City in the eastern part of Baghdad yesterday, killing 46 people and wounding 204 others, police said.
