BJP slams Uttaranchal Cong Govt for uneven industrial policy
Dehra Dun, Mar 13 (UNI) The BJP today slammed the Uttaranchal Congress government for its ''lop-sided'' industrial policy.
Not a single penny had been invested in 10 out of 13 districts, BJP State Chief Bhagat Singh Koshyari told reporters.
''It should have set up industries in those places where migration problems are acute'', he said, adding that despite the government's claim to have provided 70 per cent reservation for locals in the industries set up in the state the representation of local youths was negligible following the contract system.
''Taking up this issue and others like price inflation and corruption, the party would hold dharna and demonstration in front of the Vidhan Sabha on March 22 , the first day of the budget session'', he asserted.
Regarding the selection of the party candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat from Uttaranchal, Mr Koshyari said the decision rests with the BJP high command.
The last date for filing of nominations is March 17.
Mr Koshyari is considered the staunch rival of MP Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri whose projection as BJP chief ministerial candidate is in the air with assembly elections approaching.
