AIMIM on role of kingmaker
Hyderabad, Mar 13 (UNI) All India Majilis-E-Itihadul Islameen (AIMIM) Floor Leader Akbaruddin Owaisi today reconciled to the role of kingmaker played by the party in Andhra Pradesh politics.
''Parties like the AIMIM, CPI, CPI(M) always play the role of kingmaker. We keep the Congress and the TDP in good humour in turns,'' he remarked in the State Assembly sending the House into peals of laughter.
''The Congress is happy with the AIMIM while it is in the Opposition so is the case with the TDP,'' Mr Owaisi, who was participating in the debate on the Sripadasagar Project, remarked when Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy, intervening, noted that Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu, who rarely laughed, enjoying Mr Owaisi's speech.
The BJP Floor leader G Kishan Reddy made the proceedings lively by referring to the ''Vikram Aur Bedal'' story. ''Where is the King Vikram to answer the series of questions that have come up during the discussion on the alleged Rs 400 crore fraud in the project?'' he asked.
