100 huts destroyed in fire

Chennai, Mar 13 (UNI) Over 100 huts were destroyed in a fire at Nochi Nagar in lighthouse area of the city today.

Fire service sources said the reason behind the fire was said to be a spark from an oven in the kitchen, from one of the huts.

On information, ten fire fighting units rushed to the spot and put out the fire. Since the occupants of the huts were coolies, most of them had gone for work.

The sources said there were no casualties or injuries.
