Lucknow, Mar 12 (UNI) Charging the Congress party with indulging in ''Muslim appeasement,'' the Bharatiya Janata Party today alleged that the UPA government at the centre was bent at dividing the country once again.
The ''wrong'' policies of the centre were detrimental to communal harmony, unity and integrity of the country and the essence of secularism was in peril, senior BJP leaders said in their speeches at the workers conference here this afternoon.
Party President Rajnath Singh and senior leaders Murli Manohar Joshi, Kalyan Singh and Vinay Katiyar and others asserted that the existence of UPA was ''not conducive to the growth, progress and development of the country.'' ''Communal harmony has always been a casualty at the hands of the Congress,'' the BJP leaders observed.
The BJP leaders were equally critical of the Mulayam Singh Yadav-led UP government in the state, which they termed ''an epitome of corruption, crime, casteism and lack of development.'' MORE UNI SB ARS VD BS1806
