Unclaimed box in train creates panic

Chennai, Mar 12 (UNI) An unclaimed box kept in an unreserved compartment in the Mysore-bound Kaveri express train from here created panic among the passengers as well as the securitymen, when the train approached the suburban Tiruvallur station near here last night, railways sources today said.

One of the passengers, who noticed the box informed the others. An alarm was raised resulting in the stoppage of the train at Tiruvallur.

Acting on information, security personnel with anti-bomb detection squad rushed to the spot and removed the box to an isolated place, besides conducting a thorough check-up in all the compartments. However, they did not find any explosive.

The box was found to contain carpenting tools, the sources said.

The incident caused the detention of train for about 40 minutes.
