Split in AAM not have any adverse affect: Murmu
Jamshedpur, Mar 12 (UNI) Chief Convenor of Adivasi Adhikar Morcha (AAM) Salkhan Murmu today said the vertical split in the organisation would not have any adverse affect.
AAM coordination committee was dissolved by a section of members in Ranchi yesterday in the absence of Mr Murmu and elected Mandar MLA and one of the convenor of AAM, Bandhu Tirkey as the interim coordinator.
Reacting to the decision, Mr Murmu told newsmen here that the decision of dissolving the present committee was a unilateral decision of Mr Tirkey and some of his followers and it would not affect the organisation.
He alleged that Mr Tirkey was playing in the hands of the BJP and the JMM and was made a scape goat by both the parties as they feared that the AAM would get support of the people.
Mr Murmu said despite the development in the Morcha, the proposed rally of AAM, would be held in Dumka on March 26. The Morcha would be attended by CPI leader A B Bardhan and CPI(M) Polit bureau member Sitaram Yechuri and other state level leaders of the left parties, he informed.
He dismissed allegations that the formation of the People's Policy on Rehabilitation by the AAM on March 5 was done at the behest of some pro-capitalists. ''On the contrary it would enhance industrial growth as the policy is pro-people and pro-poor and it would safeguard the interest of the poeple'', Mr Murmu said.
