New Delhi, Mar 12 (UNI) Pleasant weather conditions continued to prevail across the national capital today due to rains over the weekend.
The cool breeze, blowing across the capital, further brought down the minimum temperature to 13 degrees Celsius today from yetserday's 15 degrees Celsius. The maximun was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius.
The weatherman attributed the sudden coolness in weather to the influence of an upper air cyclonic storm originating from areas in Rajasthan.
Heavy rains lashed the capital yesterday morning after a slight drizzle on Friday.
About 10.2 mm rainfall was recorded till 0830 hrs yesterday, the met office said.
The cool weather is in sharp contrast to the scorching conditions witnessed in Delhi since the beginning of February.
Delhi had a sudden change in the weather since Wednesday when the capital witnessed a build up of thick clouds towards the evening followed by a sudden burst of rain and hailstorms.
The cloud cover has persisted ever since, with the skies clearing up only intermittently.
The rains and cool breeze flowing through the capital led to the maximum temperature dropping to 22.5 degrees Celsius on Friday, from 29 degree Celsius on Thursday.
