New industrial policy to be in place in K'taka next month
Bangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) The Karnataka Government will bring out a new industrial policy for a five-year period next month, focusing on the development of small-scale industries (SSIs) in the state, Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister B S Yediyurappa informed today.
Talking to reporters here, he said the industrial policy for 2006-2010 would provide all necessary infrastructure facilities for the development of SSIs. The policy would also lay stress on providing marketing facilities for the products manufactured by the SSIs.
Stating that the government had to clear a subsidy arrears of Rs 300 crore to the SSIs pending since 1998, he said that of the amount, Rs 70 crore was released today.
