NDA completes one year in power
Ranchi, Mar 12 (UNI) The NDA government in Jharkhand, headed by Chief Minister Arjun Munda today completed one year in power.
There was, however, no function organised to celebrate the anniversary.
During its tenure, the government has taken various developmental programmes.
It has signed 41 Memorandums of Understandings (MOUs) with different industrial houses, including world famous L N Mittal, to set up industries in the state.
However, the main Opposition party Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has opposed the government's decision to set up big industries in adivasi dominated areas. The JMM said the government had no proper policy to rehabilate the people, besides alleging that the affected people were not receiving true value for their land.
Instead of requisition of land by the government, the industrial houses should directly purchase the land from the land owner, the JMM said.
The Opposition parties had blamed the state government of failing to solve the Naxalite problem, which now affects 16 out of 22 districts in Jharkand.
