Man held for duping people

Imphal, Mar 12 (UNI) A forest ranger was held by the Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) for allegedly collecting money from people and promising them to provide jobs in various government departments.

Talking to newspersons here today Desam members said the person had collected about Rs 78 lakhs from 41 youths.

The accused, who had been into this business since 1987, confessed to the crime and said he had returned half of the amount collected to the youths as he could not give jobs to them.
