Large scale arrests made

Barrackpore, Mar 12 (UNI) Police continued to execute pending non-bailable arrest warrants, arresting 203 accused from different areas in North 24 Parganas during night-long raids.

Police Superintendent Praveen Kumar said, besides executing the arrest warrants, 297 people including listed criminals were arrested under preventive measures and specific cases.

Police officials revealed that anti-socials were rounded up, following election commission order to ensure peaceful elections.

At least eight firearms, nine ammunition and 16 life bombs were seized, Mr Kumar added.
