K'taka keen on becoming more investor-friendly
Mangalore, Mar 12 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today reiterated that the JD (S)-BJP Government in the state was committed to generate opportunities and create a conducive atmosphere for investors in the state.
Speaking after inaugurating the Rs 43 lakh first-ever exclusive Exim Facilitation Centre of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) here, he said the government was keen on providing all infrastructure facilities in Dakshina Kannada to boost tourism and industrial development in the district.
He said priority was being given to early completion of works relating to the expansion of airport at Bajpe, near here, and Port connectivity facility.
Mr Kumaraswamy informed that during his recent visit to Delhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured him that he would visit Mangalore to lay the foundation stone for the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) here soon after the ongoing Budget session.
He also said that he would soon hold consultations with Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister B S Yediyurappa and the Finance Secretary on reducing tax to save the industries.
