Kannur, Kerala, Mar 12 (UNI) Minister for overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi, today said the Kannur airport would soon be a reality.
Talking to newspersons after attending the Maniyeri Madhavan memorial award function, Instituted in the memory of the founder editor of Sudhinam, Mr Ravi said the feasibility report was there and he had already discussed the matter with the Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel and the finance minister P Chidambaram.
He said the United Democratic Front (UDF) Governmant in the state would come to power in the next elections.
''We will fight together and we will come back to power,'' he claimed.
Regarding the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran), Mr Ravi said the DIC(K) should tell the Congress whether they are with the UDF or not.
The Congress had their own evaluation and the party was not finding fault with any of UDF partners for discussing with the DIC(K), he added.
The Congress party had a political resolution adopted in Kochi conference and the final decision would come from the High Command over the inclusion of the DIC(K) into the UDF, Mr Ravi said.
''Let DIC comeout with their demands then we can discuss the matter,'' he added.
There were no differences within the Congress party and all would fight the elections to come back to power, he noted.
Later, replying to the felicitation accorded by the Kannur district Congress, he said the UDF Government had taken up several developmental projects in the state in the last four and half years.
The people of the State had witnessed development in all sectors, he added.
He said there was no anti- incumbency factor in the state and the Ommen Chandy Government would face the elections with its development slogan.
He said the UDF Government was not in trouble in the state.
In fact, the LDF was in trouble for their anti-developmental attitude, he added.
