JD(U) favours ties with AIADMK

Tiruchirapalli, Mar 12 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) is holding negotiations with the ruling AIADMK for seat sharing to contest in the ensuing Assembly elections to the state, said K A Rajasekaran, President of the state unit of the party.

Talking to newsmen here this evening, after chairing the party's state general council he said the party would submit a wish list of ten constituencies to AIADMK supremo Ms Jayalalitha in a couple of days.

However, he said the party was ready to accept even a minimum number of seats. ''We want to be in the AIADMK front'', he added.

He said the party's main agenda was to oppose the Congress(I) and DMK.

The party's All India General secretary Arunkumar Srivatsava, who was also present told newsmen that JD(S) was also holding negotiations with Trinamool Congress founder Mamta Banerjee to contest in West Bengal Assembly polls. In Assam it would contest the elections on its' own.
