Film actor Sundaribai passes away

Chennai, Mar 12 (UNI) Yesteryear Tamil film artiste Sundaribai died here today, following age-related illness.

She was 83. She was the widow of well-known lyricist Kotthamangalam Subbu.

A native of Thanjavur district, she began her career as a stage artiste and later went on to play character roles in more than 180 films in Tamil.

'Vanchikottai Vaaliban,' 'Avvaiyar,' 'Galataa Kalyanam' and 'Ooty Varai Uravu' are some of her notable films.

She had won several awards and titles, including the Tamil Nadu Government's prestigious 'Kalaimamani Award,' during her illustrious career.
