Palakkad, Mar 12 (UNI) Claiming that the Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran) was strong enough to decide who would rule Kerala after the next Assembly elections, party President K Muraleedharan today said the party would not enter into any alliance, ''sacrificing its identity.'' Talking to newspersons here, he said his party had sufficient support base in the state to decide the outcome of the election.

However, the DIC(K) would not cooperate with others by diluting its ideologies.

Admitting that his party had held talks with some coalition partners in the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) about the DIC(K)'s election policy, he said however, no such inititatives had taken with the Congress, leader of the UDF, so far.

Asserting that his party would not go in for any ''secret understanding'' with anybody, Mr Muraleedharan said the DIC(K) would announce its list of candidates on March 20 at its state convention at Kochi.

Once the list was declared, there was no question of withdrawing it, he added.

He clarified that even if the Congress gives the green signal to the UDF, the DIC(K) would contest only on its own election symbol approved by the Election Commission.

On whether Mr Karunakaran would talk to Ms Sonia Gandhi or Mr Ramesh Chennithala in the wake of the 'war' declared against the CPI(M), he said it was not going to happen and if such a situation arises, the matter would be discussed then.
