Cricket-Play starts on delayed day four in Auckland

WELLINGTON, Mar 12 (Reuters) Play has begun on the fourth day of the first test between New Zealand and West Indies in Auckland today after overnight rain washed out the first session.

West Indies, chasing 291 for victory, were 48 without loss at the close of day three with Chris Gayle 28 not out and Daren Ganga unbeaten on 20.

Play had been due to begin at 0300 IST today, but got under way at 0530 IST instead.

West Indies have not won a test for nine months.
