Army gives reception to Hajis at Awantipora

Jammu, Mar 12 (UNI) Army Victor Force today organised a reception at Awantipora for the hajis of Pulwama and Anantnag, who performed the holy pilgrimage this year.

Minister for Urban Development and Forest Tariq Hamid Kara was present on the occasion, along with MLA Shopian Ghulam Hassan Khan and MLA Beerwah Mr Sarfraz Ahmad Khan, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir Mr Bashart Ahmad and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama were also present.

The Minister distributed gifts among the invited hajis provided by the army as a goodwill gesture. Appreciating the gesture of the army. He said it has gradually succeeded in making a place in the hearts of the people through welfare programmes and such goodwill gestures.

The army has cultivated an image of being people friendly, he added.
