Govt removes Varanasi SSP
Lucknow, Mar 11: The Uttar Pradesh Government today (Mar 11, 2006) removed Navneet Sikera, the Senior Suprintendent of Police (SSP) of Varanasi and posted Mr G.K. Goswami, earlier SSP of Moradabad, in his place.
Mr Sikera had been ordered to be attached to UP Director General of Police (DGP) office here.
Mr Sujit Kumar Pandey, the SP of Mau would take charge of Moradabad district as SSP in the place of Mr Goswami. The replacement of Mr Pandey is yet to be announced, Mr Alok Sinha, Principal Secretary (Home) said.
Mr Sikera along with several other district officials was on leave when the twin bomb blasts took place in the holy town of Varanasi on tuesday last. As many as 17 people were killed in the blasts.
