Uma terms Advani's yatra as 'farce'

Varanasi, Mar 11 (UNI) Expelled BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Uma Bharti today termed the proposed yatra of former party president and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Lal Krishna Advani as a ''farce.'' ''Now, people's confidence in Mr Advani's yatras has weaned away,'' Uma said talking to mediapersons here after meeting the Varanasi blast victims.

She observed that no person or organisation should try to capitalise politically on the Varanasi incident.

''Before embarking on his yatra, Mr Advani should have taken the local people into confidence.'' Appreciating the positive attitude of the Varanasi people in the aftermath of the blasts, Uma claimed they had shown exemplary restraint even in the face of such adversary.
