JKPSC is tinkering with Indian History : BJP
Jammu, Mar 11: BJP's Jammu and Kashmir unit today (Mar 11, 2006) alleged the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC), with ''tinkering with the history of the nation'' by excluding the part dealing with the glorious ancient era and culture in syllabi fixed for recruitment of lecturers .
Party's state vice president and spokesperson Prof Hari Om, addressing a press conference here referred to a notice published by JKPSC in the newspaper said its syllabus for screening test to shortlist the candidate for interview to the posts of lecturers, only seemed to focus on medieval Indian History starting from Sultan Mohammad Ghaznavi, Shuhab-u-Din Mohammad ghauri to the East India Company and consolidation of british rule. ''This is astonishing,'' he said.
Terming the move ''communally motivated,'' Prof Hari Om alleged it was an delibrate attempt to exclude the ancient part to harm the prospects of candidates from jammu region.
Taking a dig at the congress and its coalition partners, including peoples democratic party and panthers party, for hatching a conspiracy, he asked Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to clarify the issue.
