Heena seeks Vadodara police help to get her son back

Vadodara, Mar 11 (UNI) Aggrieved over her in-laws' behaviour and neglect, Heena, the widow of Zaheera Sheikh's elder brother Nafitullah, today sought immediate intervention of the city police commissioner for recovery of her three-year-old son Sameer from the custody of her in-laws in Mumbai.

Claiming that her in-laws had kept her in the dark about the death of her husband till the eighth day and not given any positive reply about her son, Heena today approached both police commisioner Deepak Swaroop and Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) inspector K B Jadeja and sought their help to trace out her son.

The young widow, who is presently living in the charred Best Bakery along with her 18-month-old daughter Sabera, said, '' I am virtually starving with no source of income and help from my Mumbai-based in-laws for months together.'' Talking to Heena said she had no option but to take the help of Vadodara police as neither she knew the whereabouts of her in-laws nor had money to get her son back from Mumbai. ''The police commissioner has assured to help me out in this hour of crisis,'' she added.

Nearly three years after the Best Bakery carnage, Nafitullah had returned to the charred bakery along with his second wife Heena, and was maintaining his four-member family by working in a private firm.

The family reportedly spent over Rs 2 lakh for the treatment of Nafitullah during the last four months, but he succumbed to his liver problem in Mumbai on March 2.

Spitting venom against her in-laws, Heena wondered as why her in-laws, who had taken her husband for further treatment in Mumbai, did not inform her about Nafitullah's death and also did not give correct information about her son, who was with them for the last couple of months.
