Wages of sweepers increased in Haryana

Chandigarh, Mar 11: Haryana Scheduled Castes Finance and Development Corporation, Chairman Raj Kumar Balmiki today hailed the decision of the state government to enhance the wages of sweepers by Rs 200 in all state government organisations.

He also welcomed the decision of the government to fill up the backlog of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes for group A, B and C posts in relaxation of the ban on filling up of vacancies imposed by the previous government in 2003.

In a statement issued here, he also appreciated the government for enhancing the financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000 being given to the members belonging to Scheduled Castes for construction of houses. He said that the Government had also taken a wise step by bringing the members of Block B of Scheduled Castes under the ambit of this scheme.

He said that with these recent incentives, the government had reflected its concern for the members belonging to poor sections of the society.
