Four Maoists killed in encounter in AP
Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, Mar 11 (UNI) Four naxalites, including a group commander and a Maoist, involved in kidnapping of revenue officials last month, were killed in an encounter with the police at Chennakothapalli in this District this evening.
Police said a police party was combing the area when a group of naxalites opened fire. The Police party returned the fire, killing the four Maoists on the spot.
Two of the deceased were identified as Rammohan Reddy alias Sridhar(36), who was involved in the kidnapping of a Revenue Inspector and Village Officer and group Commander Nagaraj, police added.
In the morning, the police had pressed into service a helicopter to monitor the movement of the ultras.
