Bio Tech conference wants International Center at Hyd
Hyderabad, Mar 11 (UNI) Highly impressed with the infrastructure available at the Andhra Pradesh capital, the three-day 'Agri Bio-Tech 2006' recommended setting up of an International Agri Biotech Centre at Hyderabad and establishment of four high standard research laboritories in four geographical areas of the country.
The conference which concluded today also recommended that the Central government should consider constituting an authority at the national level for clearing Agri Biotech project on fast track or single window system. It recommended to the state government to constitute a 'Biotech Authority' for facilitating all biotechnology activity in the areas of agriculture and education.
The conference in which agriculture scientists from 15 countries participated, recommended to the Centre to set up the necessary infrastructure by involving stake holders including farmers, industrialists, government representatives and consumers for better research and marketing of agriculture products.
To secure International collaborations in Agro biotech ventures, the conference said the Centre should involve the embassies in different countries.
The conference has decided to invite farmers in considerable number and heads of State from different countries.
The Second Agri Biotech would also be held here where it would be a regular yearly affair.
