3 die 4 injured as torrential rains continue in Western Vidarbha

Akola, Mar 11 (UNI) Heavy downpour accompanied by lighting and hailstorm continued to lash Western Vidarbha's Akola, Buldana and Washim districts for the second day in succession, claliming three more lives and injuring four others.

The rains also killed livestock and cattle and damaging standing rabi crops and vegetables and fruits, official sources said today.

A severe cyclonic storm razed Koraha Barzar village in Motala taulka of Buldana district last evening while Manoka and Hiwara villages in Khamgaon taluka were hit by hailstorm, sources said.

Fulsing Namdeo Rathod was killed on the spot while Laxman Salanke of Narkhed village of Nandura taluka in Buldana district was injured when lightning struck the duo, sources said.

In an other incident, a 60-year-old woman Anusaya Narayan Gawai of Ghusar village near here was killed in a wall collapse while four people sustained injuries.
