Pondicherry, Mar 10 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Indira Congress (TIC) Leader Tindivanam Ramamurty today claimed the people of Tamil Nadu did not want a DMK Government.

Addressing a press conference here, Mr Ramamurty said the people will not accept the Chief Ministership of DMK Chief M Karunanidhi or any government in which he took part.

Election results in this union territory will prove Mr Karunanidhi cannot not dictate terms in Pondicherry from Chennai.

Claiming the Congress became 'federal' in character out of necessity, he said the realisation the state leadership was gaining the upper hand came rather late.

He cited the desire of the Congress to have truck with DIC (K) in Kerala as a case in point and said if the Congress wanted to progress, it should come out of the DMK alliance.

Mr Ramamurty charged Central Government schemes were being politicised in Tamil Nadu and Central funds misused for party propoganda.

He alleged over Rs 1,000 crore was spent on organsing various Central Government functions in Tamil Nadu focussing on the DMK and Mr Karunanidhi.

An impression that the Union Government was functioning with the support of Mr Karunanidhi had been created which was not good for the Centre.

To a question, Mr Ramamurty said that the DPA was formed to oppose the communal forces and though MDMK Chief Vaiko had quit the alliance, he was still keeping up the ideology of opposing these forces. Hence, there was nothing wrong with the party supporting the Centre.

He also said TIC will contest some seats in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry under the AIADMK combine. The number of seats and constituencies will be decided in a couple of days.
