Students' fast enters second day

Vijayawada, Mar 10 (UNI) The indefinite fast by several Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) students protesting against the alleged lapses in the evaluation of second year examination papers entered in second day today.

The students began their fast before the University of Health Sciences, yesterday demanding revaluation of answer sheets.

They claimed though they were toppers in the first year, they failed in the second year due to the irregularities in paper evaluation. Of the 63 students who appeared for the examinations, only 14 cleared the papers with grace marks.

Meanwhile, University Registrar Jayakar Babu ruled out any discrimination against MPT students. He said there was no precedent of revaluation in the university's history.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) City Secretary Kiran Kumar told UNI he had submitted a memorandum to the Registrar, demanding revaluation of the answer sheets.
