Power Corpn chief alleges corruption
Pondicherry, Mar 10 (UNI) Power Corporation Chairman L Joseph Mariodass today alleged prevalance of widespread corruption in the organisation.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Mariodass said there was corruption in purchase of spare parts and fuel. Orders were given for spares already in stock for personal benifits.
He also said spares worth Rs 22 lakh were ordered for maintenance in January. Though the work was completed in February, the spares were yet to be received.
When he enquired about this with Managing Director Shankararaman, he did not get a proper reply following which a complaint was lodged with the Lt Governor who ordered a vigilance probe.
