Police pick up youth from Golden Temple complex

Amritsar, Mar 10 (UNI) A police party picked up a youth from the Guru Ram Dass sarai in the Golden Temple complex here this morning.

Confirming the raid by the police party, a Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandik Committee (SGPC) offical said that the youth identified as Gurmit Singh was staying in a room in the serai since the last few days. He is a resident of Bikaner in Rajasthan.

SGPC officals said that the police party informed them that they had come from Jalandhar and were attached to the CIA staff there.

However Jalandhar SSP Ishwar Singh, when contacted, denied any involvement of a police party of his district.

The local police are investigating the matter.
