New Public Relations policy in MP

Bhopal, Mar 10: Madhya Pradesh Public Relations Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said a new public relations policy will be formulated for welfare of small and medium-level newspapers and electronic media.

Replying to the debate in the Assembly on demands for grants by Public Relations department for 2006-07, Mr Tomar said a committee had been set up for the new policy.

He said the government wanted that large number of journalists are churned out from the state-based Makhanlal Chaturvedi Journalism University.

Besides, it wanted to bring out a publication from the Public Relations department for providing information about Madhya Pradesh.

A film based on historical incidents of the state is being made in this regard.

Later, the Assembly passed Rs 44.01 crore grants for the Public Relations department by a voice vote.
