MPSEB services included under ESMA

Jabalpur, Mar 10 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Home department has included the State Electricity Board's generation, transmission and distribution services under the state Essential Services Maintenance Act, 1979.

Official sources quoting a February 21 order stated that scientific, technical and executive officials would come under the act's purview. The order would be effective for three months.

Under section 5 of ESMA, absence or refusal to work would attract six months to three years' imprisonment and a fine of Rs 500 to Rs 5,000.
