Kingfisher Airlines bags award at ITB Berlin
New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) Kingfisher Airlines was today conferred an international award for best new domestic airline for excellent services and cuisine by the Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) at ITB Berlin.
PATWA organises international awards every year at the ITB Berlin which is the world's biggest travel fair attended by exhibitors from 180 countries and more than 7,000 journalists.
The PATWA award is given in cooperation with Messe Berlin to recognise individuals and organisations involved in promotion of tourism from various sectors such as aviation, hotels, travel agencies, tour operators, government agencies and the like.
The award was received by Mr A K Ravi Nedungadi, President and Chief Financial officer of UB Group, the holding company of Kingfisher Airlines.
Said PATWA's Secretary General Sagar Ahluwalia: ''In a short span of time since its launch, the airline has raised the bar in terms of service. The introduction of gourmet meals on its flights left no doubts in our mind about its commitment to excellence and the choice of Kingfisher Airlines as best new domestic airline for excellent services and cuisine was unanimous among the entire collegium that voted for this year's awards. They are clearly a player to watch out for.'' Kingfisher Airlines currently operates more than 70 flights a day.
