India needs knowledge power, not nuclear power: Nagarajan
Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Agricultural scientist and expert in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), S Nagarajan today said the country should emerge as a hub of 'knowledge power' instead of being a 'nuclear power' in the world.
Delivering a lecture on 'IPR opportunities' organised at the first international conference on ''Agri Biotech 2006'' here, Dr Nagarajan asserted it was high time that the biotechology and its allied activities reached the remote village for the benefit of farmers.
''Though India's agricultural trade had reached five per cent in the world market, it was necessary for the country to achieve seven per cent trade in near future,'' he said adding this objective could be achieved through establishment of knowledge centres at every agricultural university.
