"Hyderabad Declaration" adopted in Ayurveda meet
Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Vaidhyas, physicians and scientists from different of parts of the country today adopted the ''Hyderabad Declaration'' calling for prioritisation of Ayurvedic Nutritional Sciences for multi-disciplinary approach.
Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutritional education must be instituted in all schools, the Declaration adopted at the National seminar on ''Historical Aspects of Diet and Nutritional Medicine in Ayurveda'' organised by the Indian Institute of History of Medicine in collaboration with the National Institute of Nutrition.
The experts called for setting up of a national network of academic institutions of eminence for dynamic historiography of Ayurveda. History of Medicine and Ayurveda had to be encouraged by universities in their academic curricula for Medicine, AYUSH, Nursing and Life Sciences.
In a bid to counter the fast food fashion, the participants suggested ''Yukta-Ahara cafetaria all over the country.
The scientists stressed on traditional research and field application for the practical work already done in turmeric, chavanprash and plant rasayana, IIHM Director Dr A Narayana said in a release.
Eminent scientists, including Dr Ahok D B Vaidya, Director, Bhavan's SAPARC, Mumbai, participated in the seminar.
