Govt directs cleaning of walls

Guwahati, Mar 10 (UNI) The Assam government has directed all district and sub-divisional authorities to immediately clean or remove all wall writings on government buildings and other properties to ensure free and fair polls in the state.

Accordingly the district and sudivisional authorities are taking prompt measures throughout the state to prevent defacement of governnment property and display of political advertisement in government buldings.

Meanwhile, the distict commandant, home guard, Kamrup distict, here has informed that 800 home guards would be deployed for the ensuing assembly elections in the districts.
