Five land mines recovered

Visakhapatham, Mar 10 (UNI) Police unearthed five landmines planted on minor roads in G K Veedi Mandal in this district today.

Superintendent of Police V V Srinivasa Rao said a police party, which included CRPF personnel, went to the spot near Kampamanapaklu village on a tip-off from some tribals and removed one box type and four tiffin carrier type mines along with detonators and 50 meters of electrical wire, planted on the outskirts of the village.

On March five, police had unearthed five similar mines between Bheemalabanda and Kumkumapudi villages in the same mandal, he added.
