Ferrous metal prices rise on fresh industrial demand
Mumbai, Mar 10 (UNI) Metal prices in ferrous section rose on fresh sluggish industrial demand, traders at the metal exchange said today.
In ferrous section: copper heavy hiked by Rs 200 per quintal while that of copper utensils, brass utensils and brass cuttings went up by Rs 100 each per quintal as sellers were hoarding their stocks.
In non-ferrous section: copper wire bars eased by Rs 100 per quintal on lack of fresh demand.
Nickel cathode came down by Rs two per kg on thin buying support.
Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy 25,600, copper utensils-Rs 23,300, brass utensils-Rs 18,300, brass cuttings-Rs 19,00 aluminium utensils-Rs 9,950.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars-Rs 27,600, aluminium ingots-Rs 12,600, zinc slab-Rs 12,550, lead ingots-Rs 6,300, Tin slab-Rs 402 (per kg) and nickel cathode-Rs 763 (per kg).
