Enrich state coffer to meet people's aspirations, Apang

Itanagar, Mar 10 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang has emphasized on effective collection of revenue as well as resource mobilization to meet the aspirations and expectations of the people through a clean, responsive, accountable and transparent administration.

Mr Apang warned of stern action against those responsible for revenue leakage.

Addressing the heads of departments of Tawang district yesterday, the Chief Minister said a leakage of Rs. 10 lakh would cost the state Rs. 90 lakh as the central government allocates fund on 90:10 ratio, informed official sources here today.

Anyone involved in leakage of state revenue would be dealt with sternly, including exemplary punishment of termination of service, he warned.

''Ensure collection of land revenue, taxes, electricity and water supply bills and mineral&mine royalty to enrich the state coffer'', he said, adding efficiency and hard work never goes unrewarded.

Gold medal awarded this year to Er. Sang Phuntso, SE (Hydropower) for his sincerity, honesty and efficiency was the example, he said adding a proposal has been mooted for cash award of Rs. 5 to 10 lakh along with the gold medal.
