Cong not unhappy with DMK allotting 48 seats in TN

New Delhi, Mar 10 (UNI) The Congress today indicated that it was not unhappy over DMK allotting 48 constituencies for its candidates contesting the May 8 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

''Happiness and contentment is a state of mind which we would like to practise,'' party spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters on being asked whether the Congress was happy with getting just one seat more than it had contested last time.

In the seat-sharing arrangement among the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) in Tamil Nadu, PMK has been allotted 31 seats (four more than the last time), the CPI(M) 13 and the CPI 10.

All the DPA constituents have been allotted more seats this time as the MDMK of Mr Vaiko has parted ways to join hands with the AIADMK of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

Mr Singhvi, however, clarified that he was not privy to the ''internal decision-making (about seat sharing) which is highly confidential''.
