CISF celebrates its 37th Raising Day
Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, Mar 10 (UNI) Calling upon the Central Industrial Security Force to lay greater stress on imparting training and research and development, Home Minister Shivraj Patil today said the government would provide all assistance needed to attain excellence by the force.
Addressing jawans after taking salute at its 37th Raising Day parade here, the Home Minister said the CISF was doing a sterling job despite the diverse responsibilities given to it.
Because of its varied responsibilities, the CISF should put greater emphasis on imparting training to other agencies which could help in the security work, he said.
For this emphasis should be on research and development of newer and modern techniques. This would bring about qualitative changes in modes and means to handle reponsibilities, Mr Patil added.
CISF Director General S I S Ahmad said his force was ready to take up the responsibility of VIP/VVIP security going by the rising demands to this effect and added that if clearance in this regard was given early it would be better.
Earlier, the CISF showcased its 'expansion of roles' through six tableaux depicting areas like aviation (airports), heritage buildings, oil installations, nuclear establishments, space centres and steel plants where it provided security.
