Change visible in the mindset of separatists: Azad

Jammu, Mar 10 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today said as a sequel to foreign visits of separatist leaders, indications suggested a sort of change in the perception and mindset with regard to resolution of political problems of the state.

In reply to a question in the Legislative Council, Chief Minister said, although the leader of Hurriyat Confernce (HC) and Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) appear to have projected their point of view before the world community about Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir but the same does not seem to have been assimilated or supported by the world community in their rigid terms.

There seems a marked retrieval of positions from rigid to moderate ones. The interactions at international level emanating particularly from the visits to and from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir via Muzaffarabad, all the more, has helped the these leaders visualize the ground realities, he added.

The Chief Minister further said in the house, this has paved way for mass interaction among the cross sections of opinions and ideologies including the separatist organizations. The issue is now being deliberated upon in its totality in terms of geographic, demographic and political terms prevalent across the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir, he added.

Thus, confidence building measures (cbms), dialogue and interaction within the state, national and international level shall go a long way in creating an optimum environment for peace process initiated for resolution of the issues involved, he said UNI HGV RKS ARB RK2200
