AP Govt plea to Centre on maritime varsity

Hyderabad, Mar 10 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government has urged the Centre to establish a maritime university in the state.

Replying to a question by Anam Vivekananda Reddy and others of the Congress, Minister for Finance K Rosaiah said the Centre had proposed to set up two maritime Universities in the country and the state had urged it to establish one of them in Visakhapatnam, which was a major port city.

He said the government was hopeful of a positive response from the Centre.
