All arragements made for procurement of mustard in Haryana

Chandigarh, Mar 10 (UNI) Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation (HAFED) would commence procurement of mustard from March 16 at a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 1715 per quintal as announced by the central government for the current year.

While stating this here today, a spokesman of HAFED said that mustard would be procured at purchase centres and through cooperative societies in the mandies. He said that with a view to fecilitate the farmers in selling their produce various blocks in the state have been connected to nearest purchase centre of the HAFED.

Saying that HAFED has been purchasing mustard of only those farmers that would be brought to the sale point of the cooperative societiesm the spokesman said that farmers have been urged to contact the concerned cooperative marketing societies at the purchase centres and get their names registered for smooth conduct of procurement.

However, he made it clear that mustard brought for sale must be in accordance with the prescribed specifications of a maximum moisture content of eight per cent and it should be clean.
