Wipro unveils high performance server for SMB segment

Bangalore, Mar 9 (UNI) Targeting the small and medium business (SMB) segment, Wipro Infotech today unveiled, Wipro NetPower 110MT, an ideal low cost server with dependable performance.

The new server simplified management tasks and easily adapted to changing computing needs, the company said in a release.

The server was equipped with genuine Microsoft Windows and was powered by AMD Single Opteron Proc.

The server provided the SMB customers with the performance, expandability and reliability theyneed while meeting their low price requirement, the release said.

Wipro Infotech Vice President for Personal Computing Anil K Jain said, in the release, ''This new server gives growing businesses a true server at a desktop price, and helps them increase their employee productivity, protect vital information and stay connected with their customers.'' The launch of the server would enable Wiproto capitalise on the fast-growing (SMB) market. According to a study by New York-based AMI-Partners, a third of all Indian SMBs anticipate about a 20 per cent increase in annual revenues, and would boost their IT spending this year. The segment would be spending US Dollars 7.7 billion on IT solutions in 2006 and grow by 26 per cent, the study indicated.
