UP formulating anti-terrorism strategy: Mulayam
Lucknow, Mar 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today said the authorities had been directed to draw up a fool-proof strategy to prevent reoccurance of terrorist activities in the state.
''I have directed officials to take up the issue in the same way they did to control naxalite activities in UP,'' he said.
Talking to mediapersons here, the CM said a high level probe was underway to nab the culprits behind the serial bomb blasts in Varanasi on March 7.
He said the centre might also hold a probe into the incident.
Appreciating the role of the central government over the blast, he maintained the UPA government was very cooperative and had assured his government all possible assistance.
Lauding the people of Varanasi and the role of police in maintaining peace in UP after the blast, Mr Yadav lamented all efforts were made by some political parties to infuse tension by calling a bandh. ''It is unfortunate that a political party was terming the terrorist act a case of riot,'' he said.
