Two CPI(M) activists killed in maoist attack

Midnapore, Mar 9 (UNI) Two CPI(M) supporters were gunned down by maoist ultras during a clash in Dangardiha village under Belpahari Police Station last night.

Police said Satyen Soren, convener of booth committee, was holding a meeting in his house when about six ultras arrived and threatened them with dire consequences if they continued the meeting.

A clash ensued and the ultras started firing. Jaladhar Mahato and Humai Murmu were killed on the spot.

Superintendent of Police Ajay Nand, who was informed about the incident in the remote village by the party leaders, rushed to the spot.

Deepak Sarkar district CPI(M) Secretary said CPI(M) would take out protest processions in Belpahari, Silda and Jhargram villages to condemn the attack.
