Tourism influx in feb up by 12.6 per cent

New Delhi, Mar 9 (UNI) A 12.6 per cent increase has been recorded in the arrival of foreign tourists to the country in February this year.

Total arrival during the month were 873,078 as against 775,341 during the corresponding period last year, according to figures made available by the India Tourism.

Foreign exchange earnings, in rupees term, also recorded a growth of 14.7 per cent last month with an amount Rs. 5,358.05 crore.

The first month of the current year recorded an increase of 15.1 per cent in the arrival of foreign tourists and 17 per cent in foreign exchange earnings.
