Three naxals killed in encounter

Karimnagar, Mar 9 (UNI) Three naxals, including a woman belonging to 'Praja Prathighatana' party were killed in an encounter near the forest area of Stambampally village of Mahamutharam mandal in Karimnagar district today, police said.

Based on a tip off that the naxals were extorting money from local contractors and political leaders, a police party was posted near forest area of Stambampally village. They encountered the naxal group. When police asked them to surrender, the naxals opened fire.

The police returned the fire, in which three naxals were killed, according to police.

One of the three naxals was identified as Mahadevpur area dalam commander Ranjit.
